Children’s Summer Camp Wales 2022

It is with huge regret and deep disappointment that, despite our very best endeavours to address all practical issues and logistics, we are having to cancel this summer’s camp. Our camp is run solely by volunteers. This team of people do a tremendous amount of work in their wide-ranging roles there. The team includes qualified first aiders, safeguarding leaders, kitchen staff, site maintenance and youth leaders. With most recent changes to the availability of a number of key volunteers, regrettably, we no longer have the required number of people to cover all the essential roles to ensure a safe camp.

It remains the case, that with the ongoing and, in some parts of the country, increasing and often recurring instances of people testing positive for Coronavirus, the prospect of having to deal with anyone during the camp period needing to be isolated or, even more drastically, be returned home, gives us extra serious cause for concern. We trust you will understand that the safety and wellbeing of all the children has to remain our very top priority.

We pray that, with extra advance planning and preparation, we shall be able to offer the enjoyable and safe camp experience, they have come to expect over the last decades, to the children of the parishes and communities of our Deanery once again next year.
