Costa Carras obituary, 6 April 1938 – 28 February 2022

Costa Carras reposed on 28 th February 2022 in Athens, aged 84. Born in London to a ship-owning family, he studied philosophy and ancient history at Oxford where he was president of the Student Christian Movement. After studying economics at Harvard, he worked for many years in shipping in London.

Father Michael Fortounatto 19th May 1931 – 19th February 2022

Father Michael was born in Paris, the eldest of three sons of Russian émigré parents whose caring, spiritual home reflected the fervent parish life of their local Church of Christ the Saviour, an important centre of Russian spirituality. 

Andrew Walker – Memory Eternal!

Andrew Walker, a founding member of our parish of St Peter & St Paul in London and Professor of Theology Culture & Education at King’s College London until his retirement in 2010, passed away peacefully on the 26th October 2021. Costa Carras, a long-term friend and collaborator in the work of our Church in this country wrote the following reflection.

On Friday, 29th October, clergy of the Deanery convened for their Presbytery meeting under the presidency of His Eminence, Archbishop Nikitas, at a London hotel. His Grace, Bishop Maximos, was also present. There were useful discussions and advice on a range of matters.
