Programme Overview: The main feature of the Children's Programme is a short play that we prepare based on the number and age of children attending. Once we know the participant numbers closer to the conference date, we will email parents with details about the play and request that they bring specific props.
Children who feel confident can participate as actors, while those who are more reserved can assist with props and direction.
We also prepare one or two songs specifically for the play.
Additional Performance Opportunity: In addition to the Children's Programme play, children are welcome to perform at the Sunday Party (usually scheduled after the Children's Play) by playing musical instruments or reading their own prose or poetry.
Parent Communication & Registration: To maintain contact with parents and handle any emergencies, we require the organisers to provide us with the names, phone numbers, and email addresses of all parents attending with children.
This web form will register your children for the programme. (Bobo, link to the web form at this line)
This allows us to:
1. Track attendance and know when a child is absent
2. Respect parents' wishes if they prefer not to leave their children with us
3. Meet legal requirements, as we can only be responsible for children whose parents have signed the registration form
Important Guidelines:
OTHER POINTS TO NOTE
1. Children are not permitted to handle equipment on the High Leigh premises without permission from High Leigh staff
2. During breaks (meals and rest periods), parents are responsible for their children, not the programme leaders
3. The Children's Programme officially runs from Saturday morning through Sunday evening, concluding with the play
Friday Evening:
Traditionally, a volunteer provides a supervised space where children can watch a video or chat during the first session on Friday evening, but this needs to be confirmed each year.
